"Wandering" is een van Micky Hoogendijk’s iconische werken. Het beeld vangt de fragiele balans tussen kwetsbaarheid en innerlijke kracht.

Geïnspireerd door haar droomwereld en beïnvloed door de denkbeelden van Carl Jung, gebruikte Hoogendijk een periode van eenzaamheid om af te dalen in haar onderbewuste.

Het model draagt een door Hoogendijk zelf ontworpen trouwjurk — een terugkerend symbool in haar werk dat staat voor puurheid en nieuwe beginnen. In haar handen houdt ze een boek, een motief dat vaak in Hoogendijks dromen verschijnt en symbool staat voor creatie en innerlijke reflectie.

Through these symbols, "Wandering" benadrukt de vrijheid en authenticiteit die ontstaan wanneer opgelegde normen worden uitgedaagd en overstegen. Met deze symbolen verbeeldt Wandering een persoonlijke reis van bevrijding. Een reis waarin zij culturele en religieuze verwachtingen doorbreekt, en ruimte creëert voor vrijheid en authenticiteit.
