Ik ben trots om mijn eerste glazen sculptuur te introduceren, een werk geboren uit vuur, met de hand gevormd en doordrenkt met echo’s van onze voorouders.
Deze figuur is niet slechts een vrouw; zij staat voor alle vrouwen, een eerbetoon aan de moeders die ons voorgingen en aan het leven dat via ons voortleeft.
Geïnspireerd door Gaia, de oermoedergodin uit de Griekse mythologie, weerspiegelt de sculptuur schepping, veerkracht en de stille kracht die van generatie op generatie wordt doorgegeven. Transparant en toch krachtig belichaamt de glazen vorm zowel kwetsbaarheid als uithoudingsvermogen.
Het werk werd gemaakt met behulp van de lost-wax glass casting techniek in het gerenommeerde Lhotský Studio in Tsjechië, het oudste cast-glass atelier ter wereld. Door een complex proces van vuur, tijd en vakmanschap vangt de sculptuur elke subtiele beweging en emotie in het materiaal.
Dit werk markeert een nieuw hoofdstuk in mijn artistieke praktijk, waarin ik mijn werk uitbreid naar glas naast brons, fotografie en schilderkunst.
