In 2020 creëerde Micky Hoogendijk het drieluik "Ave Maria," een ontroerende ode aan het moederschap en de vrouwelijkheid. Deze serie toont de gezichten van drie jonge vrouwen, die elk onschuld, kwetsbaarheid en puurheid uitstralen. Hun naakte lichamen zijn delicaat bedekt met ingewikkelde kanten patronen, geïnspireerd door een antieke doos die Hoogendijk in een winkel vond. Bij nader onderzoek ontdekte ze het gegraveerde beeld van de Aankondiging, dat ze overbracht op haar Virgins. Deze symbolische laag vertegenwoordigt het moment waarop de engel Gabriël aan Maria vertelt dat zij Gods kind zal dragen, en benadrukt de onmisbare rol van vrouwen in de schepping van het leven. De "Ave Maria" serie eert niet alleen Maria, de moeder van alle moeders, maar weerspiegelt ook Hoogendijk's eigen ervaringen met verlies en veerkracht, waarbij persoonlijke pijn wordt omgezet in universele schoonheid.
