Micky Hoogendijks werk verkent het concept van menselijke verbinding in de breedste zin van het woord. Haar bronzen sculpturen, met anonieme figuren die met elkaar verstrengeld zijn of juist apart staan, duiken in de complexe dynamiek van menselijke verbinding. Met deze werken benadrukt ze de kracht en sterkte die te vinden is in menselijke relaties, terwijl ze ook de schoonheid van kwetsbaarheid onthult.
Geboren in Amsterdam in 1970, is Micky's reis door de kunsten gekenmerkt door verkenning en creativiteit. Opgegroeid tussen kunstenaars, galeriehouders en performers, was ze voorbestemd voor een leven in de creatieve sector. In de jaren 90 werkte ze met de bekende Nederlandse kunstenaar Rob Scholte en kreeg ze bekendheid als actrice.
Micky's artistieke evolutie nam een wending in 2012 toen ze fotografie ontdekte, gebruikmakend van een camera die ze van haar overleden moeder had gekregen. Haar autodidactische, evocatieve portretten verwierven snel internationale erkenning, wat leidde tot tentoonstellingen over de hele wereld. Tegenwoordig overstijgt haar werk continenten en genres, waarbij ze nieuwe mythologieën creëert door haar meeslepende beelden.
Woonachtig in Amsterdam in het historische Huize Zonnewijzer, blijft Micky haar unieke visie vormgeven. Haar project, The Ones at Home Gallery, overbrugt haar sculpturale en fotografische praktijken en nodigt bezoekers uit om de diepten van het menselijk bestaan door haar lens te verkennen.
