“Muse Reflection” (2019) by Micky Hoogendijk is a hauntingly beautiful photograph that merges her personal story with that of her subject. Set in an abandoned building in Los Angeles, the image features a naked woman with her back to the light, arms raised, and hands clasping her head. The woman’s shadow on the wall and the dark outline of the window frame symbolize the places where loss resides in the body.
